What's a Retro Date?
Your retro date (or retroactive date) can be found on the declarations page of your insurance policy. In claims-made coverage, the retro date indicates how far back your prior acts coverage will go. For example, if you have a policy with a retro date of October 1, 1987, then your policy will respond to claims that are made during the active policy period and that occurred on or after October 1, 1987.
